ABOUT PATTERN:
Harriet bonnet is an adult size head accessory inspired by the more common version for babies. This warm hood covers the head and the ears from cold weather and the big bow knot makes sure you look super cute wearing it! The pattern is beginner friendly. The last page includes photo tutorials for extra help.

SUGGESTED YARN:
Approx. 100 g, Worsted weight yarn / 9 WPI 80 - 100 m = 50 g
Color A approx: 70 g
Color B approx: 30 g
Note that the given yarn consumption is only an estimate and can vary according to the yarn of choice.
Example yarn suggestions for the pattern:
- Peruvian highland wool, Filcolana
- Tweed Supreme, Majo Garn, held double (50g in is enough)

GAUGE:
Approx. 17 sts = 10 cm [4 in] in stockinette stitch
No additional gauge swatch is needed. Cast on your project and measure the stitch gauge after a few rows. Start again with a different needle size if needed.
SUGGESTED NEEDLES:
4.5 mm [US 7] / 60 cm [24 in] circular needles 3.5 mm [US 4] / 60 cm [24 in] circular needles
ADDITIONAL:
- Tapestry needle to weave in the ends
WORKFLOW:
You will start by shaping the back of the head. From there, you will pick up new stitches and shape the body simultaneously in a ‘’U-shape’’. After this you will create the ribbed edges that frame the face and the neck. The bonnet is finalised by making two i-cord straps that will be tied under the chin.
